Welcome to the baby blog!

Welcome to the Eliza Jane Smith blog!

For those who may stumble upon us by accident, I'm Janie. My husband is Brian. In the past year and a half we met, got married and now we're expecting our first baby. Eliza Jane Smith is due September 8th.

We just moved to Brian's Western Kentucky hometown where we bought our first home. We couldn't be more thrilled and overwhelmed by all the changes.

If you're baby crazy, this is the place for you! I'll be posting baby news updates, Smith family updates, and the big notification when our baby girl finally arrives.

Last night, Brian's Dad and Stepmother brought us some baby presents. We got our swing, pack n play, and travel system. All in adorable Winnie the Pooh print. They also brought us a really neat rocking chair. It appears like any other arm chair, but it has rockers attached. It also has a really fluffy ottoman and should be fantastic for attending to the baby in the middle of the night.

Here are some pictures featuring Eliza's stand in, my teddy bear.

Brian has decided that he's in charge of the stroller:

I had no idea that pack n plays even existed until now. Such nifty and handy items:

Brian can have the stroller. This chair is mine!:

It's really starting to feel as though a baby's going to be living here soon. I'm doing our first loads of baby laundry this morning. I can't believe the tiny little owner of these clothes is going to live here at some point in the next six weeks.
